Done with Day One
He arrived in Demopolis around 4:10. That is an hour and twenty minutes before we estimated he would. Over two hours were spent in the locks. Tomorrow is going to be he longest day at 280 miles and roughly 12 hours of travel. He is estimated to be at our boat that is docked in Barbers Marina close to Orange Beach around 6:30.

Where are the locks located and was there a long wait to get through and a cost? Inquiring minds want to know. :-)
ReplyDeleteThere were two near Tuscaloosa, one about halfway between Tuscaloosa and Demopolis. The first one took the longest. It was about a 30 minute wait to enter and 30 minutes to drop. The rest were pretty quick. There is no cost but they like it if you call ahead to go through.
